Day 1: Johannesburg, South Africa
On arrival at OR Tambo International  (Johannesburg) Airport. A representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel.  Known to the locals as “E’Goli” or City of Gold, Johannesburg is the pulsating heart of South Africa’s industrial and commercial life.  It is also home to Soweto, the Apartheid Museum, and a working diamond mine. Sterkfontein in the Cradle of Humanity World Heritage Site is well worth a visit. Arts and craft galleries abound.  Your hotel is an elegant hotel in the trendy suburb of Rosebank, a safe, leafy yet cosmopolitan part of northern Johannesburg.  Classic and sophisticated, the accent is on understated elegance and personal service. Day 2: Johannesburg / Sabi Sands Game Reserve
A representative will transfer you back to the OR Tambo International Airport and to the Federal Air hangar for your charter flight (seat in plane) to Sabi Sands.

•  Morning Departure: You are dropped-off at the Federal Air lounge for check in at the latest 10:20am. Check in for this flight will be open from 7:00am.  There is a comfortable sitting area with complimentary refreshments where you can relax until your charter plane departs. Your flight will depart between 10:30am – 11:30am and the approximate arrival time at your airstrip is between 11:30am – 1:00pm.  OR

•  Afternoon Departure: You are dropped-off at the Federal Air lounge for check in at the latest 12:30pm. Check in for this flight will be open from 8:30am.  Your flight will depart between12:00noon – 1:30pm and the approximate arrival time at your airstrip is between 1:30pm – 3:00pm.

On arrival at the game reserve, you are met and transferred by 4×4 open vehicle to your private game lodge. Please note that the 44 lbs luggage allowance will be strictly enforced. Your luggage needs to be in soft bags so that it can be stored in the base or back of the plane. Sabi Sands Game Reserve as well as the Timbavati and the Manyeleti private game reserves share an open border with the Kruger allowing the animals freedom of movement.  The 65,000 ha Sabi Sands is considered to have some of the best Big Five game-viewing in the country.  Due to a long history of sensitive game-viewing practices, the animals are more or less accustomed to safari vehicles, which means that you will enjoy offers superb game viewing, especially of the elusive leopard and the other big five animals – elephant, rhino, buffalo and lion.  Many species of antelope, spotted hyena, cape hunting dog, jackal, and a variety of smaller mammals share this habitat as well.  Sabi Sands encompasses a number of private game lodges, which cooperate in conservation.  Enjoy game drives in open vehicles with an experienced ranger and a local Shangaan tracker, who work together to give you a deeper understanding of the wildlife and the natural cycles of the bush.  Drives are in the early morning and late afternoon when game is most likely to be active.  After enjoying the bush sunset, the evening holds a sense of anticipation as the rare and elusive nocturnal species begin to hunt. Days 3/4: Sabi Sands Game Reserve
Over the next days, you settle into the rhythm of safari life with morning and afternoon games drives, guided bush walks, and bird watching.   Sabi Sabi boasts some 350 different species of birds. Raptors are plentiful, including 11 species of owl, the seldom seen cuckoo hawk and rare bat hawk. Day 5: Sabi Sands Game Reserve / Tswalu Kalahari Game Reserve
This morning, return to the airstrip for your air charter flight (seat in plane) from the Sabi Sands to OR Tambo International Airport, Federal Air Hangar. On arrival you are transferred to the Anglo American Hangar for your connecting charter flight (seat in plane) to Tswalu.  You board your light charter flight from Cape Town Airport to Tswalu (Luggage allowance is strictly 27lbs per person in soft bags plus 13lbs as hand luggage.)  Tswalu Kalahari Game Reserve in the Kalahari grasslands of the Northern Cape is the largest private game reserve in South Africa, and the historical home of the Bushmen (San) people. The emphasis here is on exclusivity.  The entire reserve only accommodates 30 people at any one time. Days 6-8: Tswalu Kalahari Game Reserve
Explore Tswalu by 4×4 vehicle, on horseback or on foot.  This is the land of springbok, buffalo, lion, kudu, Bat-eared fox, hyena, meerkat, aardwolf, wildebeest, cheetah, and the majestic roan and sable antelopes.  Bush walks focus on the local vegetation, bush medicines, cosmetics and hunting skills of the San people.  Sundowners on the lantern-lit dunes or bush dining at Lekgaba Lookout completes the experience. Other activities include star-gazing, visiting rock paintings, Moffat Mission and the Kuruman eye or focusing on the wild colonies of Meerkats.  The staff at Tswalu works to insure that children as well as adults enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime safari. Day 9: Tswalu Kalahari Game Reserve / Cape Town
Today you are transferred back to the airstrip for your light charter flight (seat in plane) to Cape Town. On arrival at Cape Town airport, look for our representative, who will transfer you from the airport to your hotel.  Cape Town is one of the most beautifully situated cities in the world. Cradled by Table Mountain, it has immense charm and historical interest as well as its unique cultural blend; part African, part European and part Asian, which makes for a cosmopolitan dining experience. The charm of Cape Town is partly explained by Table Mountain, which breaks up the city into distinct areas, each with its own character and, indeed, its own weather!  The fashionable Waterfront and City Bowl areas are ideal for visitors who enjoy city life with plenty of restaurants, cafes and clubs within walking distance of your hotel. The evening shopping at the Waterfront is great if you have little time in the city.  Your hotel has the atmosphere of a ‘country house’ hotel, yet it is situated on a private quay overlooking the yacht marina in Cape Town’s Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.  The hotel has a waterfront restaurant.  The   Bascule Whisky Bar and Wine Cellar on the water’s edge provides the ideal setting to sample the largest collection of whiskies in the Southern Hemisphere.  Other facilities include a well-stocked library, an enticing African-influenced Spa, brand new gym and a heated outdoor pool. Day 10: Cape Town
Today, enjoy classic Cape Town on a private, half-day city tour that begins with a trip up dramatic Table Mountain by cable car for panoramic views of Cape Peninsula.  There is time for a short walk at the summit to admire the incredible scenery.  Note that the cable car tickets additional cost as the ascent is weather dependent. Afterwards, travel into the city to see the Castle of Good Hope, the city’s original fort, built in 1652 and now painstakingly restored.  From there, you continue to the historic center of Cape Town with its many 18th-century buildings. If you like, stroll through the Company Gardens past the Parliament buildings.  Finally, stop in the colorful Malay quarter, a historic sector of the city with original Malay building and narrow streets before completing the tour back at your hotel.  Since this is a private tour, you have some leeway in touring.  For example, you can opt for more time or a longer walk on Table Mountain, or for the adventurous, go abseiling off the mountain. You can also choose to browse the vibrant Greenmarket Square, take a boat trip to Robben Island, or discover the Cape Peninsula area. Optional tours may mean additional entrance fees, if applicable. Day 11: Cape Winelands
Today you venture into the Cape’s famous Winelands on a leisurely private exploration that includes the historic towns of Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek as well as wine tasting at local wine estates.  A combination of the favorable effects of two major ocean currents meeting off the Cape (Atlantic and Indian) makes the climate in the area perfect cultivating grapes.  The stunning backdrop of the mountains, the tree-lined streets and the white gabled Cape Dutch homesteads all blend in tranquil harmony. Wine estates you visit will vary depending on your preferences. You guide will discuss the options with you and select the best wine estates to visit.  You begin your touring this morning learning about the rich historical and architectural traditions of the region.  Enjoy your first wine tasting of the day at one of the estates you and your guide have selected. See the picturesque village of Franschhoek set in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains. Enjoy some of its many interesting shops and boutiques and visit a second wine estate for more wine tasting.  Lunch will be at one of the spectacular award-winning are restaurants. Then, head to charming Stellenbosch to see why Simon Van Der Stel decided to build a village in such an idyllic spot.  Enjoy the atmosphere created by the Cape Dutch architecture along the oak-lined streets and the many alfresco cafes.  Return to Cape Town in the late afternoon. Day 12: Cape Peninsula
A full-day private tour of the Cape Peninsula region begins early this morning with a drive along the spectacular Atlantic seaboard through the chic suburbs of Clifton and Camps Bay, and on to the scenic fishing village of Hout Bay.  (Here you can enjoy an optional extra 30-minute boat cruise to view the Cape Fur Seal colony on Duiker Island.)  Travel along the wildly scenic Chapmans Peak Drive as it hugs the cliff side with a 200-meter/656-foot  drop on one side with a corresponding, steep rise on the other. This is without a doubt one of the world’s most spectacular mountain passes. (Weather dependant).  Continue south to the Cape of Good Hope National Park. Explore the rocky coastline and unique Cape Fynbos vegetation, which is home to unique birdlife such as African black oystercatchers and Cape sugarbirds. You may be lucky to see wildlife such as the Cape mountain zebra, bontebok, ostrich and baboon. Climb up the stone steps to the famous Cape Point Lighthouse to capture the magical views over the bay; or take the short, optional funicular train.  After lunch, you visit the delightful penguin colonies at Boulders Beach. These South African penguins, established their colony along an already established residential area.  Drive through the historical naval village of Simonstown, over a mountine pass to back toward the city and to Kirstenbosch Botanical gardens, a stunning garden that nestles on the lower slopes of Table Mountain. Some 4,000 of the 22,000 Southern African flowering plants are cultivated in a setting of mountain streams, pools and rolling lawns. Optional excursions include a boat cruise to Duiker Island, a visit to the World of Birds in Hout Bay, a ride on a camel at Imhoffs farm, horseback riding on Noordhoek Beach or visit an ostrich farm close to the Cape of Good Hope.
