Lake Titikaka and Cusco

The last few days have been full of excitement and awe. Our 6th grandchild,Morgan Jane, was born on 12/4. Yea to Jake,Kathy and Sam. IMeanwhile, we left Lima and flew to Juliaca and then drove to Puno,to the shores of the highest navigable lake in the world. An all day boat tour took us to floating islands--where people live on reeds, grow their own food, make their clothes and meet partners at school. Next we went to another island, climbed 540 steps, ate trout and fried potatoes, saw locals show us how they use natural herbs for soap, medicine and health. At 12,500 ft above sea level, the air is very thin. The native people have hearts with 30%more capacity than ours. We have been fine..can't seem to learn enough.
