Day 9:  Sydney
Today you will be met by your private guide for a morning tour of the historical Rocks precinct.  Your experienced guide entertains you with tales about some of the legendary characters -- from convicts to gold prospectors -- in Sydney’s past.  Today, The Rocks has the oldest streets in the city, which are dotted with beautifully restored 19th-century buildings.  You weave through narrow, hidden alleyways, along charming cobbled lanes and into shady courtyards.  Linger by quaint terrace cottages and visit a gothic church.  Your tour will conclude today at the iconic Sydney Opera House, where you will then enjoy a shared tour of this world-famous landmark and gain an insight into the architecture and facilities of this world-renowned performing arts center.  This afternoon is at leisure to pursue your own interests, which might include a dizzying Sydney Harbour “Bridge Climb” at twilight!  Enjoy climbing one of the world’s famous icons!  During this three-and-a-half hour adventure, you climb stairs and catwalks never previously opened to the public and wind your way through a tangle of hatchways and steel girders suspended above the traffic.  You access walkways only recently used exclusively by maintenance teams.  At the top you will climb between the arches to the summit, 134 meters/440 feet above the water, with all of Sydney laid out before you.  Along the way, learn about the bridge's rich history and engineering.  Four Seasons Hotel – Harbour View Room (B)
