Day 1: Arrive Delhi, India
Welcome to India! After clearing immigrations and customs in the arrival hall, you will meet our representative, who privately transfers you to your hotel. The Oberoi Gurgaon – Premier Room
Day 2: Delhi
After breakfast, set out to explore Old Delhi, the former center of Moghul Power. Its busy bazaars, ancient monuments and narrow streets are a feast for the senses. Drive past the Red Fort, built in 1648. Board your ‘cycle rickshaw’ for a unique view of the Delhi street life; riding through Chandni Chowk and Silver Street. Visit the Jama Masjid, completed in 1658 ; Raj Ghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. Drive to New Delhi past British-era government buildings, India Gate, presidential palace, and minaret of Qutab Minar. The Oberoi Gurgaon – Premier Room (B)
Day 3: Delhi / Agra
After breakfast, drive to Agra. Visit Red Fort, which was built between 1563 and 1573 and has imposing gates, red sandstone walls and a moat. Encounter India’s iconic Taj Mahal. The rest of the evening is free for independent activities. Oberoi Amarvilas – Premier Room with Balcony (B)
Day 4: Agra / Jaipur
Drive to Jaipur this morning, stopping to visit Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted, red sandstone city that was built in the 16th century, and abandoned shortly thereafter. Also visit the Bulund Darwaza, the largest gateway in the world. Drive to Jaipur, a shopper’s delight. Its colorful bazaars offer enameled blue pottery, gem-studded jewelry, engraved brass work, textiles and much more. Oberoi Rajvilas – Premier Room (B)
Day 5: Jaipur
Tour Amber Fort on a ridge just outside the city. At the foot of the hill, you mount a caparisoned elephant for the slow climb up to the main gate. The fort took over 100 years to build. Tour the imposing City Palace, home to the Maharaja. See the Palace of the Winds, and the open-air Jantar Mantar Observatory. Oberoi Rajvilas – Premier Room (B)
Day 6: Jaipur / Jodhpur
Drive to Jodhpur. This evening ride horse-drawn carriages to the Clock Tower Bazaar, one of India’s largest and most colorful wholesale markets. Umaid Bhawan Palace Hotel – Palace Room (B)
Day 7: Jodhpur
This afternoon, tour Jodhpur’s Meherangarh Fort, one of the most impressive in Rajasthan, and visit Jaswant Thada, the Royal Cenotaphs. Umaid Bhawan Palace Hotel – Palace Room (B)
Day 8: Jodhpur / Ranakpur / Udaipur
Stop at Ranakpur to see the magnificent 15th-century Jain temples. Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola. Oberoi Udaivilas – Premier Room (B)
Day 9: Udaipur / Delhi / Depart
Fly to Delhi and connect with your flight home. (B)
