Day 1:  Arrive Belize City, Belize
After arriving at the Belize International Airport, you will be welcomed by a representative of the resort.  The private ground transfer to Ka’ana Boutique Resort & Spa travels about an hour and a half into the rich rainforest heart of Belize.  Here you will enjoy five nights in one of Ka’ana’s lovely Casitas.  A bottle of champagne will be waiting for you in your room.  Ka'ana Boutique Resort & Spa - Casita (D)

Day 2:  San Ignacio - Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave
The day’s focus is the Actun Tunichil Muknal (also called ATM) Cave in the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve.  Your adventure begins with a hike through the jungle, followed by a swim into the cave.  Once inside, you crawl through tunnels and passageways of one of the most preserved and protected Mayan sites in the world.  You do this in the company of a prominent archaeologist who has personally excavated Belize’s major finds.  The cave was once the exclusive terrain of Mayan priests, who came here to perform rituals, including sacrifices.  Become immersed in the history and the ceremony of a significant period of Mayan civilization.  Ka'ana Boutique Resort & Spa - Casita (B,L,D)

Day 3:  San Ignacio - Lamanai
You are in for an extraordinary adventure few other travelers will experience.  Enjoy lunch before meeting your helicopter pilot for your private transfer to the Mayan city of Lamanai in Orange Walk along the banks of the Belize River.  Then, join a former commissioner of Belize’s Department of Archaeology and renowned guide, Dr. John Morris, as you board an airboat to travel up river.  Enter the city at dusk after everyone else has left.  Be greeted by your personal houseman who will lead you into the city’s courtyard for an authentic meal of the region prepared by a Mayan cook from the neighboring village.  You are immersed in the taste of Belize as you dine under the stars, surrounded by nature, wildlife and the incredible sounds of the jungle’s famous howler monkeys.  After dinner, join Dr. Morris for the ascent to High Temple, where you  enjoy 360 degree views of the mountains, valleys, and river.  Sip a glass of wine as Dr. Morris tells the stories of Lamanai and its significance in Belize’s Maya history.  Then, you spend an unforgettable night among the ruins.  Overnight at Lamanai Mayan Ruins (B,L,D)

Day 4:  San Ignacio
Return by helicopter to Ka’ana, flying over untouched regions of jungle and mountains before landing at the resort.  For dinner, sit outside on the Fire Deck and listen to Rosalio Penados, an 83-year-old Mayan chiclero, as he chronicles life working in the jungles of old Belize harvesting chicle.  Ka'ana Boutique Resort & Spa - Casita (B,D)

Day 5:  Belize City / San Pedro
Your private ground transfer takes you to the Belize Municipal Airport for your flight to San Pedro.  Your home for the next three nights is a lovely two-bedroom villa.  San Pedro is on the southern part of the island of Ambergris Caye in the Belize District.  San Pedro was granted the status of a town in 1848.  One of the primary industries in the town is tourism, most notably scuba diving.  Victoria House - 2 Bedroom Villa (Continental B)

Days 6 & 7:  San Pedro
San Pedro is an ideal place to hang out for a couple of days.  Golf carts and bicycles are the principal modes of transportation.  Locals and visitors, many barefoot, stroll casually through the shops and restaurants or just relax and chat with the residents.  Away from the center of town, there is an abundance of birds.  Much of the island is covered with a broadleaf forest that attracts wildlife.  The yards of the houses and the hotel grounds all bloom with tropical flora.  The sea abounds with adventures for fishermen, divers, snorkelers and sailors.  Some of the best outfitters for fishing and diving trips are found here, along with plenty of charter boats.  You decide how much or how little you want to do over the next two days.  Victoria House - 2 Bedroom Villa (Continental B)

Day 8:  San Pedro / Belize City / Depart
You will take a domestic flight from San Pedro to the Belize International Airport for your international flight back home.  (Continental B)
