Day 1: Arrive San Pedro Sula, Honduras
Begin your holiday with a flight to San Pedro Sula, gateway to the highlands of Central Honduras. You are met and transferred to your premium hotel, where the rest of the day is at leisure. Hotel Princess
Day 2: San Pedro Sula / Copan
Enjoy a morning tour of the city sights including the Museum of San Pedro Sula and local handicraft market Guamilito" with its colorful stores. Then depart to the “lost city” of Copan, among the most superb in the Mayan world. Inhabited for 2,000 years, its golden age was from the 5th to 9th centuries when it far preceded other Mayan and European civilizations in its development of astronomy, sculpture, and writing. Day 3: Copan
Today we visit the legendary Archaeological Park of Copán, consisting of two main sites: the ruins and the sepulchers. Enjoy the impressive 63 step stairway with over 2,500 hieroglyphs, the masterfully carved stelae and the new Sculpture Museum. Continue your exploration at Las Sepulturas, a residential and burial site providing valuable insights to the lives of Copan’s ruling elite. Marina Copan (B,L,D)
Day 4: Copan / Lake Yojoa
We depart to Honduras’ largest lake, Yojoa, backed by majestic forested mountains. Enjoy the pretty countryside and the village of Santa Barbara, known for its junco palm hats and colorful baskets. Later we visit the Pulhapanzak waterfalls, the most spectacular in the country. This important cultural site for the ancient Maya, invites you for a refreshing bath in its clear waters. Day 5-7: La Ceiba
Return to San Pedro Sula today for our flight to La Ceiba. Transfer to your luxury nature resort in the Honduran rain forest. Enjoy your enchanted lodge, a haven for birders, hikers, and paddlers with included activities during your stay such as an exhilarating all-day white water rafting trip down the Cangrejal River or if you prefer instead, a guided boating trip through the tropical lagoons and beaches of the Cuero y Salado Wildlife and Manatee Refuge. Take a guided walk into Pico Bonito National Park, an unspoiled rainforest where you will enjoy birdwatching, wildlife tracking and swimming in crystal clear mountain streams, and tour the beautiful butterfly sanctuary and working nursery. Day 8: Depart La Ceiba / San Pedro Sula
