Day 1: Arrive Johannesburg / Windhoek, Namibia
Arrive in Johannesburg and connect with your flight to Windhoek. You are met and escorted to your comfortable guest farm in the bush savanna of the Kalahari. Enjoy an afternoon nature walk. Eningu Clay House (D)

Day 2: Windhoek / Sossusvlei Dunes
Fly to the site of the massive red Sossusvlei Dunes that soar a thousand feet above the surrounding land. Set off through this prehistoric landscape to your lodge, which has splendid views of the dunes and nearby mountains. A veranda overlooks a watering hole. Kulala Desert Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 3: Sossusvlei Dunes
Explore the dunes today, learning about the hardy wildlife that survives in these harsh conditions. On night drives, you may meet up with small mammals such as bat-eared fox and, sometimes, spotted hyenas. Optional hot-air balloon safaris (pre-paid supplement) present exciting opportunities to experience the oldest desert in the world. Kulala Desert Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 4: Sossusvlei Dunes / Swakopmund
View extraordinary scenery as you drive through the desert. Later, arrive at your luxurious lodge just south of Swakopmund. Burning Shore Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 5: Swakopmund
Travel to Walvis Bay for a boat trip to see the abundant wildlife. Later today you are free to investigate the fascinating surroundings. Optional activities run the gamut from driving dune buggies and horseback riding to venturing out on coastal safaris and fishing expeditions. Burning Shore Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 6: Swakopmund / Damaraland
Journey up the coast past Africa’s largest seal colony at Cape Cross. Then, turn inland to your lodge close to Twyffelfontein in central Damaraland. Mountain Mowani Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 7 & 8: Damaraland
Damaraland’s rugged wilderness is known for extravagant scenery – massive granite domes and flat-topped mountains. Set your focus today on intriguing animals as you head out on safari along dry riverbeds. These unexpected surroundings harbor giraffe, gemsbok, Hartmann’s zebra, steenbok, ostrich and the rare black rhino. Palmwag Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 9: Damaraland / Himba Village / Etosha National Park
You are in for a special treat when you visit a semi-nomadic Himba settlement en route to the legendary Etosha National Park. Then, travel to your camp in the park near its southern boundary. Tonight, observe impressive wildlife at a floodlit water hole. Ongava Camp (B,L,D)

Day 10: Etosha National Park
The enduring ecosystem of Etosha National Park harbors a mix of both desert and savanna species and supports 114 mammal species, 340 bird species and 110 reptile species. Game viewing is excellent all year, with antelope, elephant, giraffe, rhino and lions congregating at water holes. If you are lucky, you may glimpse leopard and cheetah. Ongava Camp (B,L,D)

Day 11: Etosha National Park
Travel past Etosha’s vast saltpans to the eastern section of the park known for herds of elephants. Your charming lodge sits on the edge of the pan. Watch bush babies at sunset or savor a dip in the small plunge pool. Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of Africa. Etosha Aoba Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 12: Etosha National Park
Travel in the Eastern section of the park, where the wildlife is varied and relatively easy to spot in the open terrain.Return to the lodge for a sundowner game drive with the opportunity to walk the Fisher saltpan. Etosha Aoba Lodge (B,L,D)

Day 13: Etosha National Park / Windhoek / Johannesburg / Depart
After breakfast, return to Windhoek in time for your flight to Johannesburg. Bid farewell to Africa, for now, as you connect with your overnight flight home. (B)
