The Leading Custom Luxury Travel Company

For more than four decades, Big Five has met and exceeded your expectations by providing authentic journeys that explore the essence of a place while honoring what is most important to you. We believe in the power of travel, especially international travel, to change the world for the better. Our sincere goal is that, at the end of your journey, you return home with that sense of knowing; of having really experienced the best of what a destination has to offer.

Family Focused Adventures
Your alternative to family tolerant travel

WPrinte saw that there was a lack of genuine child-oriented tours, programs that put the kids’ interests first. We chose to flip that model on its head by creating exciting journeys specifically crafted with children at the center of each of our ground-breaking Precious Journeys adventures. Indeed, we were featured in The Wall Street Journal in an article about family travel.

These journeys allow our youngest travelers, in an age range of about 5 through 11, to explore a world of incredible animals, fascinating people and amazing landscapes while learning about subjects ranging from archaeology to zoology. They will discover different cultures and meet other children.  These journeys will take them to the front lines of sustainability today to see what is happening in the realms of wildlife conservation, historic preservation and community development – and all with a huge dose of fun!

In line with our commitment to kids and to sustainability, we have formed an alliance with the nonprofit One More Generation (OMG), founded by two remarkable children. In 2009, Carter Ries, who was then 8 and his then 7-year-old sister Olivia Ries, learned about endangered animals when they ‘adopted’ a cheetah in South Africa, and that was the beginning of OMG.

We can only image the effects of a generation of OMG kids…

When you travel with Big Five, you receive an exclusive, complimentary one-year membership to OMG that includes the adoption of an endangered species such as a snow leopard, elephant, bird, or other threatened or endangered species in an area where it is needed most, in partnership with Defenders of Wildlife.FTA member logo

We sincerely believe that travel has the potential to transform our planet and the power to change lives. We have partnered with Family Travel Association, and support its mission: “To inspire families to travel – and to travel more – while advocating for travel as an essential part of every child’s education.”  We couldn’t agree more.
